Do What You Have To Do To Make It!

Some sacrifices are unbearable and need a lot of thought and prayer to make it through, but we all know that GOD won't put you through anything you can't handle.

I had to realize that what ever I was going through I was the one able to handle what ever it was just for the simple fact that I was going through it. I had to realize that I couldn't keep worrying about things I could not change. I had to realize that it  all wasn't about me. I had to realize that real people start at the bottom and work their way up.

The next thing I had to ask myself was, what do I want out of life? After I figured that out (big hill to climb) I had a whole list of shallow things and then I had a reality check and came up with these. I want to create a successfull black owned company that manufactures original salon chairs (the Veo salon chair) designed by a female ex-offender. Sales from the chairs will help fund the SOA project.

Next I did a lot of research on business formation. I researched for about 4 years before I could even start to write anything down. Keep in mind that in between all of this I had to live and survive. That's when I started volunteering to do my friends and familys braids. I began doing hair weaves for a donation, which was only a fraction of what a traditional beauty shop would charge. Then it hit me:People want to pay you for what ever it is you do. All you have to do is market yourself. I started my hair business with $5 and a camera phone that only held pictures, it wasn't even activated.
